Ripped from his body before he learned to speak, possessing the corpse of a demon preserved for aeons, and locked away in a castle deep in the inhospitable reaches of the Eastern Galb Mountain Range for as long as he can remember. Now he is expected to conquer the entire world as the sole sovereign of Illmore. 

This is all a bit too much for Bolt.

In Galb, two separate justice systems exist. Once a person chooses to pursue magic, they automatically consent to “Mage Law”. A doctrine that defines law abiding persons that wield magic as Wizards. Should they wield illegal archetypes, cast banned spells, or use magic without the necessary authorizations, they are labeled a witch.

One cannot prevent a human being from using magic, as there are no fetters for the soul. Because of this incarceration becomes prohibitively difficult. Mage law has a clear prescription: When a wizard turns witch, they are to be hunted down and killed on the spot.
